Vintage Cut Glass Ink Well

20/11/2025 By Emma Jervis

A delightful cut glass inkwell that would make a real statement on your stylish writing, office or work desk.

This dinky but delightful piece has a wonderful hinged brass lid that opens and closes neatly.
The glass element of the inkwell has an attractive dimpled pattern with its base having a cut star design.

It is in good overall vintage condition but there are some areas of wear & tear – the inside of the lid has patina & darkening to the brass & the base has some surface scratches from where it has been sat on desks, tables etc. However, there are no chips to the dimpled sides or any visible surface scratches.

The inkwell is of a good sturdy weight.

A beautiful addition to your home , a display piece, collectable item or a very thoughtful gift.

Vintage Moroccan Perfume Bottle

24/10/2025 By Emma Jervis

A stunning vintage glass bottle used for holding perfumes, oils & rose water.

This example is of Moroccan origin & through research likely dates from 1920’s/ 1930’s.

Beautifully crafted, this bottle has a glass body that has both clear & opaque elements & a metal overlay on the top & base.
The long neck has a pretty ornate design and an opening at the top for the contents to come out from.
The neck screws neatly on & off the glass body.
The whole unit sits on a metal stand.

Simply beautiful, this glass bottle would look so very stylish in your home on a vanity unit, glass shelf, dressing table, window sill.

In good working order and considering its age in in good vintage condition. There are a few areas of rubbing to the metal work & patina in places. However, the bottle is fit for purpose & just so very pretty.

Stands at 23 cm in height ( approximately)

A total keeper or a fabulous gift for a very lucky someone.

Vintage Cigarette Case

09/10/2025 By Emma Jervis

Here we have a wonderful vintage State Express cigarette case.

The case is a gold toned metal (could be brass on the lid) with shiny sides & base. It has been polished up in parts and as a result has a two toned appearance, which adds to its warmth.

The lid has more of a brass appearance & benefits from a simple but effective pattern – it opens & snaps shut with ease.
The interior of the case is made of wood & has two compartments for storage, initially of cigarettes or tobacco, with the wood likley being Cedar as this would have been beneficial for preserving the freshness of the cigarettes.

State Express was a cigarette brand founded in London in the late 19th Century. The base of the case has the State Express logo and MADE IN ENGLAND stamped on it.

This particular case is from the 1950’s and as a result of its great age does show areas of wear & tear to it. There are a few knocks & marks to the surfaces, scratches , patina & rubbing. All this however adds to its charm and the case is fully functional for a wide range of storage ideas- pins, needles, buttons, receipts, jewels, rings, brooches, napkin rings & much more.

Add this to a collection of tobaccanalia, use it in your stylish home, make a feature of it as a display piece, gift it to a lover of all things vintage.

Dimensions – length – 24 cm , width 9 cm. ( approximately)

Vintage Brass Cased Tape Measure

01/07/2025 By Emma Jervis

* SOLD * A delightful pocket sized tape measure , dinky but delightful and still very much fit for purpose.

This little marvel has a red cloth tape , marked on both sides, one being cms , the other inches. The tape is retractable and given its vintage age still pulls smoothly from its mechanism.

The tape is encased in brass with one side depicting a scene of three cherubs emerging from clouds with a divine light. The other side of the casing has an embossed design.

The tape measure is in lovely vintage condition with very few areas of wear & tear.

Some areas of the tape have a little fraying but it winds outwards and retracts back smoothly. The printed numbers are legible and easy to read.

One side of the case is much shinnier than the other – I feel its been polished up previously , but I have left it alone.

A real delight for the seamstress, dressmaker , tailor amongst us – a great piece for a habdashery collection, a prop, display piece or a wonderful gift.

It measures a delightful 1 inch diameter.

Vintage Glass Powder Dish

12/03/2025 By Emma Jervis

A delightful lidded loose powder dish full of charm, warmth & a lovely sense of history.

Adorning many a dressing table & bathroom shelf over the years, this pretty dish would have been filled with loose powder & used as part of a make up or daily skin routine.

The decorative lid has a good weight to it & has a handy mirror built in to the underside. The dish still has the card & net frame for the puff that would have been used to apply the powder to the face. It is in good condition with no rips or tears but does have a few little marks on the rim of the card. It still has a pleasant scent of the powder to it.

The glass dish is in fabulous condition with no chips & is clear & bright.

Such a lovely piece of vintage homeware – a delightful accompaniment to your stylish home or a rather fabulous gift.
