*SOLD* An incredible games compendium, hand made in stunning natural wood and waiting to be played.
The set consists of beautifully handcrafted pieces for the games Chess, Draughts, Solitaire & Dominoes.
The box holds all the pieces safely and would be fabulous as a travel set if desired.
Curved edges, grooved sides and a stunning lacquered finish, the games set would make a wonderful feature in your home and an attractive display item, as well as providing great entertainment.
Because the Set is handcrafted there are slight discrepancies in the size of the solitaire pieces, but they all fit neatly & safely into the provided groves. One of the white draught pieces is unfortunately missing, but there are 2 extra black pieces. Perhaps one of these can be marked in some way so that you know this would be counted as a white piece.
The lid is fixed with a lovely brass fitting but is slightly off centre when closed, again, because of the uniqueness of this being a handmade item. Around the hinge, inside the box, there are remnants of the glue that has been used.
All that being said, the games compendium is wonderful and would provide much fun during the winter nights ahead of us.
It is a robust 1439 g in weight & measures 20 x 20 cm approximately.
In very good vintage condition.
