A very pretty, elegant & stylish piece of vintage serving ware produced by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield.
This bowl has a lovely quilted cut glass detail around the sides with a pretty pressed glass star burst pattern on the base. The lid, swing handle & collar are made of silver plate.
A wonderful addition to your dining ware & perfect for serving up delightful biscuits, sweets & treats or even ice cubes – the choice is yours.
The bowl is in very good vintage condition, especially when you consider its age. However there are a few areas of general wear & tear to all areas of the silver plate in the form of tarnishing and patina. The handle is slightly misshapen which I hope you will be able to see on the photographs. However, this is minimal and the bowl is a real beauty .
The makers stamp is marked on the underside of the lid which also bears the figural trumpet & banner trademark, clearly identifying this as being the work of James Dixon & Sons.
