A striking and beautiful example of Gibsons & Sons pottery ware.
Produced at the Albany Potteries in Burslem, this gorgeous jug is sure to add style to your living space, whether its on a window sill, dresser, dressing table or dining / kitchen table.
Ideal for serving cream, water or sauce during meal times, or the jug would look fabulous with a few flowers popped inside.
The pitcher has a stunning cobalt blue glaze with a gorgeous gold gilt overlay. The gold gilding depicts a crane flying.
In good vintage condition but given its age there are the expected areas of wear and tear. The gold work still shows the design clearly but the handle and the rim shows rubbing of the gilding and there are a few surface marks to the jug on both the blue and the gold features. There is also a tiny chip out of the rim.
This being said the jug is a real delight and would look wonderful within your stylish home.
