The tongs enable carrying and moving coals to the fire or within the fire to be easier and safer.
The end of the tongs has the grip feature which helps prevent the coals from slipping and because of the tongs age and usage these ends are darkened from the coal. There are areas of patina which you expect, but this simply adds to the beauty of this delightful piece of vintage homeware. There is also a slight “squeak’ intermittently when they are opened.
The tongs measure 22 cm in length approximately.
