*SOLD* Here we have a simply stunning Art Deco Brass Inkwell & Stand.
The brass work is elegant & ornate in its detail with a flower design crafted into the stand. The stand & the 4 legs are full of swirls & curved edges.
The inkwell itself is made of a brilliant white ceramic & is topped off with a stunning scalloped edged hinged brass lid.
Inside the lid there are a few little areas of hardened paper which I would suggest would have been from a paper seal that would have been in place to stop the ink from spilling. The seal would have been broken to access the ink & these last bits of paper remained around the edges. I have left them as they are & not attempted to remove them as I think this is a wonderful part of its history and story.
This vintage piece is in excellent condition but the brass work does have some areas of patina. The ceramic inkwell is in a wonderful condition & the hinged lid has only he slightest wobble to it. However, this stunning inkwell & stand is fully functional.
This stylish & elegant piece of vintage desk decor would take crowning glory on your writing desk, used within a Wedding for signing those all important papers, or in a business setting like a Hotel Reception area.
