A beautiful Set of 6 Vintage Dessert Bowls in the most stunning design.
Produced by Simpsons Potters of Stoke – on -Trent, this Ambassador Ware is created in the “Athlone 608” pattern.
The design consists of a elegant & attractive floral design in beautiful range of colours, a thick burgundy band finished off with a superb gold filigree decoration which also drops down slightly into the recess of the bowls. The edges of the bowls are scalloped in a subtle cream colour.
They are in very good vintage condition but do show some areas of usage in the from of crazing to the surface within the recess of the bowl & the underside. There are some age relates spots to the surface and one bowl has a tiny chip to the scalloped rim, but this is on the underside so it cant be seen very clearly at all. Some of the gilt filigree within the recess of the bowls has slightly worn away in places where I assume the bowls have been stacked on top of each other over the years.
Despite these small defects the bowls are in fabulous condition and would look so very attractive during any meal time.
